What it proves

  • This exact content existed on MYSTHOOD.
  • It was posted under this account, not another.
  • It was recorded at this time, not backdated.
  • The record has not been altered since.

What it does not prove

  • That the poster owns the underlying rights.
  • Anything about platforms other than MYSTHOOD.
  • That anyone is immune from a claim.

That second column is not a disclaimer bolted on afterwards — it is the reason the first column is worth anything. A seal on a stolen photo faithfully records that this account uploaded it here at this time, which is useful evidence and is not a grant of rights. A provenance system that overstated itself would stop being believed about everything else the first time someone tested it.

Fetch the public key, once

GET /.well-known/mysthood-provenance — served openly, cached at the edge, identical for everyone on earth.

Check the signature

Verify record.sig (base64 Ed25519) over "mysthood-provenance-v1:" plus a deterministic JSON of the record with the sig field removed. Any Ed25519 library, any language, offline, forever.

Or let this page do it

POST /api/v1/provenance/verify is unauthenticated and answers cross-origin — a rival, opposing counsel or a court can call it directly. There is a form for it here.

Verification runs at Cloudflare's edge from the published key alone, so it keeps answering when the platform API is down, being redeployed, or gone. A verification service only its owner can keep running is worth very little in an argument about ownership — so this one does not depend on us.

  • No ads, no gambling, no bots.
  • AI video is disclosed and labelled Portal Video.

Content screening refuses rather than passes when no screening provider is configured. An unsupervised deployment publishes nothing; it does not quietly publish everything.
